“Gibilterra”, the new Del Tongo brand kitchen designed by the company's R&D department together with architect Egidio Panzera, will make its debut at the 2015 Furniture Fair. The core of the project is the door: a metallic seam along its edge interacts with the panel, allowing it to bend into a curve that until now could only be produced using solid wood. The result is a fresh aesthetic — a synthesis between recessed grips and handles. The lack of protrusions creates a clean formal look for contemporary spaces, which is easy to design and offers a versatility unique to kitchens without recessed grips. The Gibilterra door has been patented. Careful research was carried out in choosing materials for the new kitchen to combine aesthetics, technique and tactility. During Milan Design Week Gibilterra will be presented with the following finishes: the vertical surfaces in Dark Elm and Dakar Black, the horizontal surfaces in Natural Dekton and the metallic seams of the doors in Bronze and Opaque Black.
